Slumdog MIA on air

If you haven't yet seen Slumdog Millionaire then you had best get to it before it leaves the flicks. What a treat it is up there, I was in the front row but the opening scene alone was worth the sore neck. It features our auld friend MIA (now with child) who collaborated with the film's composer A.R. Rahman to produce a track specifically for the movie titled 'O...Saya'. Up for Best Song at the Oscars, it looks set to carry the Slumdog soundtrack far, there are some other gems on there too though, see for yourself over on itunes or get the lot from Amazon. Nice article with words from the lady (who is with child) herself over on the LA Times blog Pop & Hiss.

Here is the track on the youtube complete with a few snaps of herself lookin' like a total babe. Doesn't have quite the same effect as seeing that opening chase scene but still good.

This latest offering from Cadbury's tops the gorilla for me. It's from the same director as the Skittles ads a while back (you can see them on his website) and interestingly enough he also did the video for LCD's 'All My Friends' below. Back to the Eyebrows though, the choice of tune is inspired Freestyle's 80's synth line in Don't Stop the Rock is the perfect soundtrack for such weird choreography.

Cadbury's have gone on to rename the month of Febuary 'Febrowary' a bit of a bang of Movember off that, here's looking to Fanuary next year. They also made a poll to find the world's' eyebrow king and queen. Coming out on top were:

1. Sean Connery
2. Brooke Shields
3. Count von Count from Sesame Street - (good to see this lad in there)
4. Alistair Darling
5. Brains from Thunderbirds
6. Noel Gallagher
7. Des Lynam
8. Frida Kahlo
9. Liam Gallagher
10. Vanilla Ice

No mention for Colin 'caterpillars' Farrell though, that man would be lost without those two props!

Work it Col!

Anyway here is that vid...

LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends

Back Once Again

Well, it's certainly been a while, over a month actually but here I am, back again, if with a slightly different climaXXX than before.
There were a few reasons for my hiatus, thinking about it properly though, none are really a great excuse- there is always a bit of time for a post, no matter how small.

First off: I was starting to get a bit pissed off with blogger deleting my posts, fair enough if there was some copyright issues but if they had have deleted the MP3 and kept the text I wouldn't be so bothered but it was a bit crap to have the whole lot go with no record kept.
Secondly: I started a new job and the transition from man of leisure to 9-5 wage slave took its toll on me - big time. I was bleedin' wrecked for the first while actually but have managed to get into the swing of it now.
Issue the third: The old January blues got me pretty bad and I just found it hard to get inspired. Feeling much better now though so back to it.

The changes in Blogger’s rules mean that from now on there will be a lot fewer illegal MP3 knockin' round here so to fill the gap expect more inane ramblings, some interesting videos, ads and hopefully a few more guest slots from Kt80 and SUgArTiTZ. There will of course be more news on gigs in Dublin and climaXXX club will be back in Feb with some disco madness.
