More Yo! Gabba Gabba - this is a video from the robot episode with Money Mark singing about making music with electricity and his robot friends. It's a pretty chilled cool tune too. What a show!

Horrorthon 2009

My favourite time of year is coming up - Hallowe'en and the annual Horrorthon in the IFI - this October bank holiday weekend - 22nd - 26th.

I am a big fan of 80s teen slasher flicks with ridiculous themes - such as 'April Fool's Day' so I can't wait to see ' Silent Night - Deadly Night' - about a deranged teen in a Santa suit who goes on a killing spree...



They are also showing Gremlins which is pretty damn Christmassy too - but I'm not complaining. I just hope it means that for the surprise movie they will show 'New Year's Evil ' and not SAW VI. (Yuck)

There are tonnes of movies on including Romero's Day of the Dead - BEST ZOMBIE MOVIE EVER - social commentary and amazing zombieness - and Joe Pilato - the actor who plays the psycho soldier guy - will be there at the screening.

Everything's better with Zombies!

I admit: I've never read Pride and Prejudice - no surprises there. But I did watch about 10 minutes of the film with Colin Firth (yuck) once by accident so I know what's going on. Also, I've seen Clueless. It's a classic tale of class divide, love, pride and eh... prejudice, right? Imagine how much better that would be with zombies? Yes, I ask that about many things and I know ( now ) in real life zombies would probably be a bad thing. But here is concrete example of their appeal: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - a world-renowned piece of boring ol' literature made accessible and interesting by the addition of HORDES OF THE UNDEAD.

I haven't read it yet - it's on its way - but I really hope a zombie falls in love. They're people too you know.

P.S The day after posting this I was kindly informed by a much more learned friend of mine, Matt, that the movie Clueless is in fact based on Jane Austen's novel Emma, not Pride and Prejudice. Boy, is my face red! I shall now attempt to mask my shame by suggesting that perhaps the movie Clueless is another example where the addition of a few rogue zombies might have drastically improved viewing pleasure. Am I right?! I'm right, amn't I? In your face, Matt!

Not Just For Christmas

I had an At-At when I was young, I think I filed it with Ghostbuster slime though, probably in a strategic battle between some M.A.S.K characters and He-Man, ruining it forever. That Ghostbuster slime must have been the scourge of parents soft furnishings as well as New York City, I remember stains on the carpet that would make Slimer blush.
Nickisconfused managed to keep his At At in a lot better shape, regular exercise and a diet of Rebels (like Revels only crunchier) are the key apparently, see the resualts on his flickr.

I think that pretty much speaks for its self, but for those out there not as easily impressed as me, here comes the science bit:
ArcAttack is the brainchild of Joe DiPrima and Oliver Greaves and in the words of their website:
ArcAttack employs a unique DJ set up of their own creation (an HVDJ set up) to generate an 'electrifying' audio visual performance. The HVDJ pumps music through a PA System while two specially designed DRSSTC's (Dual-Resonant Solid State Tesla Coils) act as separate synchronized instruments.

Van She vs Utah Saints vs Kate Bush

Being a huge fan of dance routines, I'm loving this new video for Van She's remix of Utah Saint's proper oldskool rave choon 'Something Good' (which featured a sample from Kate Bush's track 'Cloudbusting').

The outfits are deadly, the location inspired, with slick group choreography and even a cameo from old Parachute Pants himself.

I wonder what Kate makes of it...
