Amazing Philips advert "Carousel"

To promote their new widescreen tv, the Cinema 21:9, Philips commissioned the following mini film - it's amazing. When I first saw it I thought it was a trailer for a movie but unfortunately it's just a stand alone piece. But check it out - it's a frozen moment scene of a massive shoot out between those age old natural enemies - cops and clown bank robbers - it's brilliant:

You can read more about Director Adam Berg and the company that made it, or watch it in high quality (recommended) at Stink Digital.

Total Sausage Fest

Just when you think Superquinn Sausages can't get any better, it turns out it's their 30th birthday and there's a competition on to celebrate. There's one grand prize of €3,000 - pah - but more importantly - each Superquinn store will have a prize of a YEAR'S SUPPLY OF SQ SAUSAGES - which amounts to 9 SQ sausages a week for a whole year. This amounts to 468 sausages, or 156 sausage sandwiches - oh baby - if you make your Superquinn sausage sandwiches ( SQSs) with 3 sausages, like I do.

To win you have to invent a new sausage flavour (although I have been assured they aren't going to change the original) and also the tie breaker is the question : How many sausages did SQ sell in 2008? ( To the internets!)

Competitions forms are all over your local Superquinn and it runs til March 17th. I have used the word sausage so many times in this post the word has lost all meaning. But not deliciousness. Best of luck and may I, or someone to whom I live relatively near and also have reason to pop over for brunch regularly, win.

Be sure to join the official SQS group on Facebook

I'll Never Lego

So lego is cool again, well obviously it was always cool, but now it's coool, I know this because the hunter of cool told me and the coolhunter is always right. Check out some of the awesome stuff over there on their article. I found this too, which is nealy enough to get me biking.

As the coolhunter says it's the perfect for brand to be cashing in on Gen-Y's love of retro cool, seems like they have a few things in the pipeline already.

iBrowse

This latest offering from Cadbury's tops the gorilla for me. It's from the same director as the Skittles ads a while back (you can see them on his website) and interestingly enough he also did the video for LCD's 'All My Friends' below. Back to the Eyebrows though, the choice of tune is inspired Freestyle's 80's synth line in Don't Stop the Rock is the perfect soundtrack for such weird choreography.

Cadbury's have gone on to rename the month of Febuary 'Febrowary' a bit of a bang of Movember off that, here's looking to Fanuary next year. They also made a poll to find the world's' eyebrow king and queen. Coming out on top were:

1. Sean Connery
2. Brooke Shields
3. Count von Count from Sesame Street - (good to see this lad in there)
4. Alistair Darling
5. Brains from Thunderbirds
6. Noel Gallagher
7. Des Lynam
8. Frida Kahlo
9. Liam Gallagher
10. Vanilla Ice

No mention for Colin 'caterpillars' Farrell though, that man would be lost without those two props!

Work it Col!

Anyway here is that vid...
